Italian dinner at Ananda café, Covilhã |
21959 visitas The vegetarian café and restaurant Ananda regularly hosts dinners dedicated to present different countries and their cultures. In close cooperation with Erasmus students, as well as other foreigners staying in Covilhã, it offers a unique experience of foods, music, traditions, films and special features of the culture. Traditional recipes are being transformed into creative vegetarian dishes where necessary by Shiila Serrano, chef and owner. This time it was Enrico Chiari, doing his European Voluntary Service in Covilhã, who talked about what he considers to be special, different or just a fun fact about his country. “It’s nice to have people’s attention when I talk about something that I like. The atmosphere in the café was relaxed and intimate”, said the Italian, originally from Pordenone, after all the guests had finished with pizza, tagliatelle in gorgonzola, aubergine on basil and a desert of Tiramisu. The final highlight constituted a presentation of the internationally well known Italian body language. Most guests agree that this Italian taste not only made them have a fun night with a delicious dinner, but also made them become more sensible for the Italian culture. “I feel that this kind of events really enriches me. At the same time I can get to know other people and share my impressions and opinions with them”, explains Elvira Del Carre Patallo. Enrico Chiari adds that it is simple and a great experience for both, the participants and himself. “I know that I enjoy these kinds of events myself, so I contribute with what I have.” Excited by the idea of it other guests already started planning their own contributions to Ananda café’s cultural nights. A Spanish, an Indian and a German night are confirmed for the following months. |
