The Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC) are specialised courses in the less widely used and less taught European Union languages and the languages of other countries participating in Erasmus. It is supported by the European Commission and give Erasmus students the opportunity to study the language of the host country for 3-8 weeks.
EILC is open to students participating in the Socrates/Erasmus programme. Courses vary in length according to country and the student’s level of language knowledge, but normally last between 3 weeks and 8 weeks.
In 2006-2007, EILC will take place in the following 23 countries: Belgium (Flemish Community), Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Turkey.
